TASER

How does a Taser work?

The Taser generates very high voltage that disrupts the nervous system that causes temporary paralysis of the assailant. Since there is very low amperage associated with the charge, it causes no damage to the body as long as it is not applied for long periods of time.

What is the difference between a Taser and a Stun Gun?

While the terms Taser and Stun Gun are often times used interchangeably, and while they both produce the high voltage, low amperage, the stun gun is a close in weapon while the Taser is a stand-off weapon. You have to be close enough to the assailant to actually press the stun gun against the body then pull the trigger. The taser shoots two small prongs at the assailant at a distance of about 15 feet. This allows the victim to keep a distance from the bad guy.
